Two biggies from the SEC:

* Taliah Scott from Arkansas (freshman who is a great shooter but a volume shooter, too)
* Maddie Scherr out of Kentucky (excellent all-around player)

Caitlin Weimar, 6'4 post from Boston U., has entered the portal. Good player and very athletic. Could Vandy be interested? I suppose it's possible, but, oddly enough, we already find ourselves with something of a surplus at the 3-4-5 positions. We already have Sacha Washington, Justine Pissott, Aga Makurat, Ryanne Allen, Jordyn Oliver, 6'4 freshman Aiyana Mitchell and incoming 6'3 Trinity Wilson vying for playing time in the front court. Mitchell, in particular, has shown a lot of promise, but she has had trouble getting onto the court. Makurat, who I still think can be a star, will also need to see more playing time in the future if she is going to develop. Adding another front court player could be problematic, but the coaches have proven very adept with their portal choices, so I wouldn't dare complain regardless of what they do.

Another interesting player became available yesterday. Highly ranked Clarksville guard Imari Berry, who surprised just about everyone by signing with Clemson, has asked for and received a release from her letter of intent since the coach who recruited her, Amanda Butler, was recently fired. I don't think Vandy was ever seriously involved with her, but UT was thought to be one of the leaders for her services. Will be interesting to see where she winds up.

Looking at “Inside” players (the 4 and 5) for rebounding, shot-blocking and layups, your group is primarily Sacha, Mitchell and Wilson. Oliver perhaps, but she is often our “Point Forward.”

Pissott, Makurat and Allen are 2-3 types who mostly shoot from outside.

Sacha is the only 5 with plenty of experience and she may be the shortest player on your list. We can definitely use another experienced, tall inside player.
