Macias is trash. How do you miss the ball being hit by the bat in foul territory and try to call it a fair bunt???

This guy has 2 arms so he can throw 200 pitches today. I would not be surprised to see them get shutout.
Well the season's over. They will limp down the stretch as the schedule is not nice. Georgia on the road will be a gorilla ball affair we can not compete in. UT will smoke us as usual. And now even UK has left us in the dust. We are going to finish 5th or 6th in the east. Maybe make a decent showing in Birmingham and then bow out in a regional after bats go cold again. This is Vandy baseball now.
And we will be even worse next year unless lightning strikes and several people take huge leaps on the mound and in the field and Corbin brings in 4 or 5 bats. Not little speed guys who can run, but big guys who can actually hit with pop. Not likely. And expecting Baxter to improve the young guys on this roster is about as likely as one of us winning the Powerball.
As I said yesterday. MIKE BAXTER IS KILLING THIS PROGRAM. He is the recruiting coordinator and he is the hitting coach. He sucks at both. I don't think he even knows what a good hitter looks like. Its all about speed and athleticism. As long as they are able to hold a bat is good enough. Doesn't matter, even the very few highly ranked hitters fizzle when they get here after being exposed to his radiation. Holbomb was the #28 overall prospect and one of the top 2 or 3 hitters and not even expected to make it to campus. Baxter has already messed him up. He is just up there flailing away.
The 2 strike approach has been the same for the last 4 years, just swing away. The same long a$$ swings with no shot of adjusting to a breaking pitch. There is no plan. Just swing away and pray. No one can hit a breaking ball. They take pitches over the middle early and chase crap out of the zone late. Watch these MSU guys, they shorten up and put the ball in play with 2 strikes. It's night and day.
It's all on Corbin now. This is the fork in the road. Either he rides off in a steady decline or he reignites the fire and cans Baxter and changes his philosophy and accepts the small ball era is over. There is no reason this team can not bring in big quality hitters just like they do with arms. But Corbin has always put a premium on speed and fielding. So I honestly do not think that will happen. So at a minimum, HE MUST BRING IN A PROVEN HITTING COACH AND RECRUITER. This is not about portal or NIL. He can survive without the portal IF he embraces offense and makes a change in that direction.

Not true. Jurrangelo Cijntje was the #34 ranked overall prospect out of high school and was a freshman at MSU last year.

We have a ton of experience. We have no talent. We are a team of small petite athletes who can run fast. But none of these guys were standout hitters in high school except Holcomb and Kozeal. And they have been Baxterized so they suck now also.
