Strongly pitched game by all 3 pitchers. Carter is pitching like a closer, throwing quality strikes. Boys didn't score a lot of runs, but hit they the ball hard with some timely at bats and aggressive baserunning. Very good win, especially over the Cagliones...errra...Gators.

Who is starting for Florida?

According to a Florida website, Pierce Coppola will be starting for Florida. Very, very tall LHP who has been out for two years with an arm injury and then back surgery. He started last week and did not fare well. He was going to be Florida's Saturday starter as a Freshman. Pitched one game and pitched into the fifth. Was throwing low 90s in high school. Originally committed to Virginia and then flipped to Florida. Would have been a very high draft pick but scouts knew he was planning to go to school. he turned down a huge bonus after getting drafted late. If he is healthy and 100%, we could have our work cut out for us.

Only lasted 10 hitters, 1/2 dozen hard hit balls (3 caught), 1 BB & 1 HBP. Gators to the bullpen early.

He’s from my home town. Looked awful tonight. Feel bad for him. Has great potential. Not sure if he can make it all the way back. Coached him two years in travel basketball. Great kid and great family.
